Voyager To Offer No-Fee Crypto Trades

Voyager is a new startup planning to offer cryptocurrency trading with zero fees to compete with Robinhood. Voyager is backed by one of the co-founders of Uber, Oscar Salazar.

Voyager will act as an aggregation point for cryptocurrency price across several trading exchanges. According to an interview with Voyager CEO Stephen Ehrlich on Bloomberg, the company will be connected to 10 different exchanges and three liquidity providers. Ehrlich stated, "Voyager's backend will be able to provide customers the best execution possible in terms of price, speed, liquidity and reliability. This is due to the price variation of different exchanges at any given time." According to Ehrlich, " We see a crossed market 100% of the time in crypto."

The trading platform plans to offer at least 15 different cryptocurrencies and add more digital assets in the future. Ehrlich stated, "Our requirements for taking on a coin are, regulatory, excecution and security. Those are the three major components we look at as to whether or not we could actually have a coin on our app and therefore trade on one of the existing markets."

Voyager will also work with institutional investors. Ehrlich explained the system in the interview, "We're developing an open archetecture system for institutions connected to multiple custodians, multiple banks, and obviously the multiple execution venues, so therefore we're bringing a value proposition not only to retail, but to the institutional customer so that they can access the markets, and again back to a way they are use to accessing the equities and futures markets."
