Coinbase announced today that they are exploring the addition of the following assets: Cardano (ADA), Basic Attention Token (BAT), Stellar Lumens (XLM), Zcash (ZEC), 0x (ZRX)According to Coinbase the assets will require additional exploratory work. They gave no guarantee the assets would be listed for trading and also mentioned that some may only be be listed solely for buying and selling, without the ability to send or receive using a local wallet. Some of these assets may be offered in other jurisdictions prior to being listed in the US. Coinbase also referenced ZCash in the announcement, saying that it would only support deposits and withdrawals from from transparent ZCash addresses.
Coinbase did not commit to when or whether these assets will become available, but said they would provide updates to customers about the process and what they can expect via their blog and Twitter account. They also said customers should expect that they will make similar announcements about exploring the addition of multiple assets. Some of these assets may become available everywhere, while others may only be supported in specific jurisdictions.
