BlackWallet Hacked of $400,000 of Stellar Lumen

On January 13th BlackWallet.co, a web based wallet, was hacked of 700,000 Lumens (XLM), with a value of over $400,000. Warnings have been published from the BlackWallet team over the weekend for users not to login to their wallets to prevent their Lumens from being stolen: https://tinyurl.com/y8vynyng

According to Kevin Beaumont, a security researcher, “The DNS hijack of Blackwallet injected code, if you had over 20 Lumens it pushes them to a different wallet.


The hacker has moved the funds to Bittrex. Bittrex has been notified in an effort to block the hacker’s account. The creator of BlackWallet has suggested that people move their funds to a new wallet using the Stellar account viewer: https://tinyurl.com/y7sks5on
